Trainers & Team

High Valley Hanoverians is extremely proud of our resident trainers and other members of the team who demonstrate daily their dedication to proper young horse development and their loving devotion to these amazing equine athletes.

Hannah Koehn

Hannah started riding at the age of 5 when her parents bought her her first mare, Sugar Foot. Working closely with a natural horsemanship trainer, Hannah and her dad fell in love with the sport, training whenever they could. Throughout her teens, Hannah trained her own two geldings and showed them in eventing, dressage and AA-rated jumpers while also training as a working student under Shawn Mack.  In 2008 Hannah started competing heavily, acquiring several state championships in eventing and dressage for years to follow. In 2013, she took her own mount, Fonger, to the USDF Region 3 Championships. Due to her love of animals, Hannah went to college for a B.S. in biology for pre-veterinary medicine. However, she is now doing what she loves, practicing classical dressage and natural horsemanship. She has worked with clinicians and trainers such as Gigi Nutter, Danielle Perry, Sophie Clifton and more. She is currently pursuing her USEF and USDF trainer certification and hopes to eventually obtain all three of her rider medals and become an "L" judge.

High Valley Hanoverians is pleased with the dressage excellence that Hannah contributes to the HVH team in addition to her jumping talents.   We are looking forward to her contribution to the HVH training and sales program “Developing Hanoverian Athletes in the Mind & the Body®”.
